Media Club: “US and EU Policy towards Ukraine: Still Unified?”

11:19 AM 9-7-2014

On July 9, Institute of World Policy held a Media Club “US and EU Policy towards Ukraine: Still Unified?”. The event will take place at 3 p.m. at the Institute of World Policy (address: 20/8, Instytutska str.)The events in Ukraine have tested the unity and efficiency of the Transatlantic Partnership. In most cases the U.S. government was more vigorous in its statements and actions than their European counterparts. This discrepancy, quite noticeable during the Euromaidan, has become even more evident after the Russian aggression against Ukraine. The Participants of the Media Club discussed the relations between Ukraine, the U.S. and EU, in particular the introduction of sanctions against Russia, military and financial support of Ukraine.

Speakers:

Danylo Lubkivskyi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine;
Samuel Charap, Senior Fellow for Russia and Eurasia, International Institute for Strategic Studies in Washington, DC;
