Ms. Diuk underlined that democratization of the country is impossible without full involving women to the political and economic life of the country.

Nadia Diuk said: “Involving women to the political life makes the country more open and transparent.” This consideration correlates with the message of the first participant of the project “Global Virtual Forum of Women-Leaders”, then US Ambassador-At-Large for Global Women Issues Melanne Verveer “If there are more women on a higher level of the power, then the level of corruption is less.”

Also, the public woman emphasized the two main aspects, which should be developed for strengthening gender equality, in particular the legislative regulation at the institutional level and transformations in the political culture.

The videoconference was held within the framework of the project “Global virtual forum of women leaders,” which is supported by Internews, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and the Carnegie Center (Washington).
