Institute of World Policy in partnership with CIDOB (Barcelona Centre for International Affairs, Spain) organized two-day study visit of 27 European thought leaders – representatives of the best EU think tanks, editors, and leading journalists.The second day of the visit started with a public debate in the Ukrainian Media Crisis Center. The European experts briefly discussed media coverage of the Ukrainian events in their native countries, and named the factors affecting the position of EU governments regarding Ukrainian-Russian conflict.

During the working lunch participants discussed the internal and security situation in Ukraine with the leading Ukrainian experts, including Oleksiy Melnyk, Co-director of Foreign Relations and International Security Programmes at Razumkov Centre, Dmytro Shulga, European Program Initiative Director at the International Renaissance Foundation.

The participants got a unique opportunity to hear about the situation in Ukrainian regions directly from the experts and civil activists from Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, Lugansk, Odesa, Donetsk and Kharkiv. The regional thought leaders came to Kyiv at the invitation of the IWP.

During working dinner our European delegation got acquainted with the activists of the civil initiative Reanimation Reform Package. Representatives of the initiative told the European experts about Ukrainian civil society efforts to reform Ukraine.
