12:32 PM 9-6-2017

On June 9, the Institute of World Policy held the official opening of the outdoor cartoon exhibition “Ukraine’s Road to Visa-Free Regime with the EU”.

The event took place on June 9 at 11 a.m. in Taras Shevchenko Park, Kyiv.

The foreign and Ukrainian diplomats, Ukrainian officials and civil society leaders took part in the event, in particular EU Ambassador Hugues Mingarelli, Anatoliy Solovey, Head of Public Diplomacy Department of the MFA, Sergiy Sayenko, Deputy Director of the EU Department.

It took nine years for Ukraine to make the dream come true. In April and May 2017, the European Parliament and the Council of Europe adopted the abolishment of visas for Ukrainians, and June 11 was declared the day of the introduction of the visa-free regime. To mark this event the Institute of World Policy together with famous Ukrainian artists organized the exhibition of cartoons, dedicated to Ukraine’s thorny and tortuous path toward the visa-free regime with the EU.

Apart from the cartoons, IWP prepared the informational posters with the general overview of Ukraine-EU dialogue and implemented reforms. The aim of the outdoor exhibition is to engage common people with the reform agenda, and to deepen their understanding of a visa free regime.

This exhibition is conducted as part of IWP project, implemented under the USAID/ENGAGE activity, which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Pact. The contents of this exhibition are the sole responsibility of Pact and its implementing partners and do not necessary reflect the views of USAID and the United States Government.
