Institute of World Policy prepared the publication “Ukraine’s “Soft Power” in the European Union: Results of the 1st Euro Exit Poll”, based on the opinion poll.IWP decided to find out if the Euro 2012 was a successful project for Ukraine from the point of view of European integration. To this end, ISP ordered a sociological survey among EU citizens who visited Ukraine during the championship finals for the GfK Company. The survey was conducted in the four hosting cities of the Euro 2012 (Kyiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Lviv) on the exits from the stadiums.
The vast majority of respondents – 84, 64% – had never visited Ukraine before. Most of them (79.58%) do not have friends, relatives or business partners in Ukraine. That is why, for the vast majority of European fans Ukraine had really became a true incognito.
The results of the survey in English can be found here.
The IWP project “Ukraine’s Soft Power in the European Union” was supported by the “National Initiatives to Enhance Reforms (UNITER)” project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Pact Ukraine.
