When Croats and Albanians have signed up the protocols of joining NATO in Brussels, for some reasons I have remembered how during our visits to NATO office in 2001, me and my colleague were quite aggressive to different alliance representatives asking: “Why Albania has already proceeding with MAP, yet Ukraine hasn’t even been allowed to start the Intensive dialogue?”. Albania for us was equally described as the end of the world and none of us was even able to imagine that when Albania will be asked to join NATO, Ukraine will still remain on the Intensive dialogue stage. As such, MAP will be something like a foreign policy victory and the first attempt to get it will be a fail. The article is available in Ukrainian only

The Euroatlantist Diary. Yugoslav Batallion in NATO
I imagine how the delegation of Croatia and Albania felt about signing up protocols of NATO membership last night on their way back from Brussels, which was approved by 26 members of NATO. Thought it’s not hard to imagine, because among the delegation assistants there was my friend, who is a national coordinator of Albania’s membership to NATO Glori Husi. I contacted him via telephone and discovered what exactly the joining to NATO has offered to Albania. Readers of “Glavred” website will find out about it in the next “Euroatlantist Diaries”. For now, I would like to concentrate on Croatia. The article is available in Ukrainian only
The Euroatlantist Diary. Putin is heating with ratings.
I am very interested, how the relationships of Putin-Medvedev tandem will develop. No, not in which way each of them will control the situation, because actually I don’t really care whether the new president is going to be a “fluffy” creature, which was shown on “Russia Newsweek” magazine cover, or whether he will show his teethes, as was predicted by Alla Pugachova in the recent interview to a polish newspaper Dzennik. The Euroatlantist Diary. Donetsk, the city of Euroatlantism.
Recently I talked a lot with people from Eastern Ukraine, the views of which on NATO considerably differ from those, which are widely accepted by the rest of the population of Eastern Ukraine. After the talks on geopolitical views of our fellows from East, and about who creates them – Putin or Yanukovich, and also about whether they want to be protected by Russia from “Ukraine being pulled in NATO” I decided to start a mini-rubric in my Diary, which will be named “Eutoatlantists speaking”, where fans of NATO membership in Ukrainian could expand their arguments in favour of such choice. The article is available in Ukrainian only
The Euroatlantist Diary. Football and NATO
To tell the truth: I was inspired by two things to write about “Euro 2012”. Firstly, it’s an extremely important visit of EUFA inspectors to Kiev at the beginning of July, which is leaded by Michelle Platini Secondly, it’s Berlin, which last week made an impression of a football paradise even though the matches were shown on TV screens, not on stadiums. The Euroatlantist Diary. Speculations on neutrality
As I promised in the last “Diary” post, I am writing regarding the neutrality or the blocked status of Ukraine, about which there has been a lot of speculations. The article is available in Ukrainian only

The Euroatlantist Diary. Informational start.
Once Michel Duray, Director of the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Kyiv, Ukraine, who could be soon replaced by a Canadian, has said one interesting thing: in order to fill up a glass, there is no need for a powerful jet of water. The article is available in Ukrainian only
The Euroatlantist Diary. December is coming up.
It’s been two months after the Bucharest Summit. Seems like nothing and December meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs is not quite there yet, however bearing in mind the diplomatic work that has been done before the Bucharest meeting and now, there is a lot of questions regarding the possibility of Ukraine’s MAP. The Euroatlantist Diary. Who from government is in favour of NATO?
Recently, you have to ask different representatives of NATO members: “Who from Ukrainian politicians could be a true Euroatlantist?” The article is available in Ukrainian only
