IWP joins the information campaign “Stronger Together”

A new information campaign entitled “Stronger Together” aimed at supporting European path of Ukraine has been launched on September, 10 in the Concert Hall of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.From the stage of the Hall about advantages of economic, political and cultural Eurointegration said: Jan Tombinski – Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Andriy Olefiov – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukriane, Hennadiy Chyzhkov – President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tomas Fiala – President of the European Business Association, President of the European Youth Parliament – Ukraine, Sviatoslav Vakarchuk – Merited Artist of Ukraine, and Alyona Getmanchuk – Director of the Institute of World Policy.

Alyona Getmanchuk told about IWP experience in spreading information about the European Union in the different regions of Ukraine within the project “Street Eurouniversity”. She also shared her thoughts on the role of civil society in implementation of the Association Agreement in Ukraine.

The Director of IWP said: “Association with the EU is not only an incentive for active and aware mobilisation of part of Ukrainian citizens who support European integration, but also a great responsibility. Civil society representatives will have to upgrade their professional and analytical abilities and strengthen their team spirit, which will be crucial for comprehensive monitoring of implementation of the Association Agreement and for further spreading information about its advantages for Ukraine”.
During the event the IWP has presented the new components of its information campaign, which are movies and iconographic devoted to the advantages of European university programs currently unavailable for Ukrainian students “Skazhy YES! Ocviti v EC” (“Say YES! To education in the EU”). The project is organised due to the support of the Czech government.
The project “Stronger Together” includes a range of informing events in Ukraine’s regions aimed at informing the local population about the country’s European integration course.

In February 2013 the IWP has launched an information campaign “There is a better side of Europe!”. Within the project in particular cities of Ukraine the Institute organizes Street Eurouniversities during which IWP experts and diplomats of the EU member states discuss with Ukrainians about European integration. Street Eurouniversities were organised in more than 10 cities of Ukraine: Kyiv, Odesa, Dniptoperovsk, Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Poltava, Kremenchuk, Nizhyn, Sumy, Konotop, Kryvyi Rih and Krivorohrad. Next events will be organised in Mykolaiv (12 September) and in Kherson (13 September. Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Jan Tombinski, will be the honorary guest during the event in Mykolaiv.
