Institute of World Policy with the support of the International Fund “Vidrodzennia” on September 13, 2013 organised Street Eurouniversity in Kherson – the exhibition of caricatures which illustrate benefits of European integration for Ukraine.The exhibition “There is a better side of Europe” was opened by a lecture given by Mårten Ehnberg, Deputy Head of the Embassy of Sweden in Kyiv. The Swedish diplomat told about economic and social relations between Sweden and Ukraine and signing the Association Agreement with the EU.
The citizens of Kherson had an opportunity to discuss their questions regarding European integration with the IWP experts – Alyona Getmanchuk, IWP Director, and Serhiy Solodkyy, IWP first deputy Director.
Street Eurouniversities have been already presented in: Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Nizhyn, Poltava, Sumy, Konotop, Kirovohrad, Kryvyi Rih, and Mykolaiv. Caricatures presented within this project illustrate two realities in around twenty social, economic, and political spheres of everyday life in Ukraine and in the EU countries. Caricatures were made by famous Ukrainian artists – Maryna Turovska, Kostyantyn Kazanchev, Ihor Bezhuk and Oleksiy Kustovskyy. Pictures were ordered by the IWP.
Street Eurouniversity is a metaphorical title for public events, which aim is to support open discussion between civil society leaders and experts with ordinary citizens. Within this project we organise series of exhibitions of caricatures that illustrate the most vital challenges of Eurointegration supplemented by relevant comments and facts.
