Institute of World Policy has established the new Supervisory Board. Its main task is to assist the IWP in implementing its mission, which is to promote European standards and practices inside Ukraine and increase support for our country in the world.The current members of the Supervisory Board are prominent politicians and international experts: Swedish Prime Minister (1991 -1994), Minister of Foreign Affairs (2006 – 2014) Carl Bildt, President of Lithuania (1998-2003, 2004-2009) Valdas Adamkus, notable Polish dissident, chief editor of Gazeta Wyborcza Adam Michnik, senior fellow with the Atlantic Council’s Program on Transatlantic Relations Adrian Karatnycky, founding Chairman of the European Stability Initiative (ESI) Gerald Knaus, associate fellow and former headof the Russia and Eurasia programme at Chatham House James Sherr and long-term Ukraine’s Ambassador to the EU Roman Shpek.
Members of the Supervisory Board are old friends of the IWP who have supported the Institute since its inception in 2009.
“Today we have two main strategic priorities which can be briefly summarized as follows: Europeanization of Ukraine and Ukrainization of Europe. I am sure that experience, reputation and energy of the members of the Supervisory Board will help the IWP to achieve these priorities more effectively, “- said director of the IWP Alyona Getmanchuk.
On December 16, the IWP will celebrate its five years anniversary. The IWP team has already implemented over thirty projects, published more than two dozen analytical publications, and held more than ten international forums and conferences. The most successful are: “Ukraine’s Soft Power in the region”, “How to Get Rid of post-Sovietness?”, “Street Eurouniversities”, “Strategic Discussion Club”, “Thematic Panel Ukraine-Georgia” and others.
On December 19, the IWP together with Prague Security Studies Institute held a roundtable aimed at contributing to a consolidation of security sector in Ukraine.The participants discussed shielding security system against infiltration by foreign and criminal interests and guarding loyalty of security community.
The round table was attended by leading Ukrainian and Czech security experts, including Jiří Schneider, Senior Fellow and Director of Special Projects at thePrague Security Studies Institute, Petr Pojman, Fellow of Prague Security Studies Institute, Dr. Oldrich Bures, Head of the Center for Security Studies, Michal Tosovšký, Director of the Policing Program of Open Society, and others.
The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Ukraine Ivan Počuch and Deputy Ambassador Paul Buchek were also present.

The consortium of partners from 10 countries presented the first results of the research project “Important, Forgotten or Irrelevant? Stakeholders’ Survey on Post-Vilnius Eastern Partnership”, which is supported by International Visegrad Fund. Ukraine is represented by the Institute of World Policy.The presentation took place at the 6th annual meeting of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum on November 20 in Batumi, Georgia.

The research project is realized by nine think-tanks Association for International Affairs (AMO), Slovak Foreign Policy Association (SFPA), Kosciuszko Institute (KI), Center for EU Enlargement Studies of the Central European University (CENS/CEU), Institute of World Policy (IWP), Caucasian Institute for Economic and Social Research (CIESR), Foreign Policy Association of Moldova (APE), Analytical Centre on Globalization and Regional Cooperation (ACGRC), Center for National and International Studies (CNIS) and one independent expert from Belarus.
The project purpose is to (1) map attitudes towards and perception of Eastern Partnership among important stakeholders; and (2) to draw EaP advocacy map. The project will contribute to capacity building of civil society in EaP countries, strengthen sustainability of the EaP and enhance regional cooperation of the civil society organizations and think-tanks. Results will aid in setting up appropriate advocacy strategy for EU integration of EaP countries.
